Educated at ETH Zurich, Simon Frommenwiler co-founded the Basel-based practice HHF Architects in 2003 alongside Tilo Herlach and Simon Hartmann. Today, working with current partners Mariana Santana, Cella Hubel, and Esther Dürrholder, the firm operates at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, and cultural production to develop process-driven projects that address broad spatial, social, and ecological questions. Alongside his design practice, Frommenwiler maintains an extensive academic and leadership profile, notably serving as a Design Critic at Harvard GSD since 2018, Chairman of the BSA Basel, and a member of the UIA's Sustainable Development Goals Commission.
